Young Soon Kim February 1940 – March 2020

Young SoonKim (80) of Laguna Woods, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

She was fondly referred as “Soonie” by her friends and “Mrs. Kim,” “Mom,” or “Halmuni” (grandmother in Korean) by most others. Her passion was piano and music, so the house was often filled with the sounds of melodies from opera, symphonic performances or Broadway playing on the TV. She would also play hymns and other music on her piano. There was always music in the air and food ready to be eaten, no matter what time of day. She was hospitable and generous to all visitors, kind to strangers, and patient and loving with family and friends.

She is survived by her son Barry (wife Sandi); daughters Linda (husband HK) and Susan (husband Scot); grandchildren Chloe, Dexter, Keegan, Max and Zoe; and 2 sisters in Korea, Young Shil and Young Soo.

Service and Interment

Young Soon Kim’s family is thankful for those who took care of her and appreciates the kindness and dedication of everyone around her.

Due to the current health concerns and restrictions on congregating in confined spaces, the family will not have a reception.
