William Crozier
Newill Jr.
November 23, 1946 – October 3, 2018
William Crozier Newill, Jr. (Bill) unexpectedly passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumor on October 3, 2018 while surrounded by family. His love of family and friends guided his 71 years of life. Nothing was more important than his children, and more recently his new role and favorite new name: Granddad. Bill grew up in Chester, PA and attended the University of Delaware. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in Army Intelligence. He spent 35 years in the Physical Security industry where he was known as a man of character, principle, and integrity. Bill loved his football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles (watching their 2018 Super Bowl win 5 times) and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He enjoyed volunteering, working passionately on trail building projects with BSA Troops 636 and 1210, and the San Gabriel Mountain Trail Builders (SGMTB). He worked tirelessly on Eagle and service projects, including cooking at soup kitchens with T636 and the ND Alumni Club.
Bill is loved and remembered by his devoted wife, Teresa Ryan Newill; children, Chad Newill (Merissa), Amanda Newill Paden (Jon), and Ryan Newill; granddaughters, Lyric Jones, Rori Paden, and Echo Paden; mother, Winifred Newill; sisters, Mary Newill Connaway and Betsy Newill Sanville (Rob); and nephews, Joseph Fons, Alexander Sanville (Angela), and Austin Sanville. He was preceded in death by his father, William Crozier Newill, Sr. His friendly smile, gentle soul, and kind and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all. Bill's Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's honor may be made to SGMTB at http://www.sgmtrailbuilders.org/donate.htm.
