William Richmond
Herrin
December 23, 1931 – November 24, 2018
William Richmond Herrin was born on December 23, 1931 in Michigan. He passed away on November 24, 2018 in Mission Viejo, California. William attended High School and College in Michigan where he enlisted in the Air Force. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served our country for over 20 years. He was a Captain for United Airlines for over 40 years. While flying with United Airlines, he had the pleasure of flying the troops to the Gulf War, which he said was his proudest moment as a Captain.
William enjoyed golfing, fishing, and family. He also enjoyed woodworking as he made lots & lots of reindeer, rocking horses and much more.
He was a 60-year member of Masonic Lodge #579. He was to receive an award for being the longest member before passing. He was also a member of South Shores Church for 10 plus years.
He married Francis Ann DeHart in 1981, where they lived in Carol Stream, Illinois, before finally settling in Mission Viejo, California in 1986.
William was preceded by his oldest son Mark Herrin.William is survived by his wife Frances A. Herrin, six children, Brad DeHart, Theresa Cook, Mary Brown, Steven Herrin, Renee Barnard, and LuAnne Williamson, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. William, (aka Bill, Papa, Dad) loved his country, family, and friends, and he was always loving and supportive with all whom befriended him.
