Obituary
~ billyonthebass ~
A fine musician, talented artist, wonderful son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, friend, cat-dad, Best Husband. Billy poured his entire heart & soul into every relationship, every gig, every chore.
He was an extraordinarily talented, gracious, kind and generous man. His humor wicked, very silly, crude and came off sweet doin’ it. Just hilarious. Beautiful laugh, and a very handsome dude.
He was a God-Loving man…unpretentious, honest, gentle and strong.
Billy was the groove-master. He could groove, man, and he never forgot that it was all about ‘one’.
‘Groove in Peace, Billy…ain’t no rest for the Funky’
We hope you can make it to Billy’s memorial service and / or the reception immediately following.

Though i only knew Bill since the beginning of the year i felt close to him. I was one of his students and i thought you would like to know he had really made an impression on my life. We would talk about GOD and music in the same breath. He helped me realize my love of music was harwired in me by GOD. We talked, laughed, jammed, i learned more from him in a couple of months that i had previosly in years of lessons. I really miss our Monday night jam sessons already. I am sure you feel the loss much more deeply than i but take heart in the fact that there is a Rock n Roll Heaven and they have a great new Bassist.

Dear Gwen,
We are so sad to hear of Bill’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. We hope that you find comfort in knowing that he is now in heaven. We all know that Conner Dr. will not be the same without him and his friendly smile and wave. God Bless.
Sincerely,
Mark, Jami, Lance and Hannah Smith

I only got to hang with Bill once…It was a few weeks ago at a bass clinic @ Saddleback. I had the pleasure of having a late lunch w/Bill and Gordon. Bill seemed like an old friend I had known for years. We shared and had so many of the same experiences…the same trials…the same joys!! We both share a deep love for our Lord Jesus Christ, a deep love for our familys and a deep love for music and bass playing.
Bill modeled Christ in his life…
I shall miss him….but I can’t help but rejoice knowing he is with our Lord.
My thoughts and prayers are with you…
In Him,
Todd Johnson
