Obituary

~ billyonthebass ~

A fine musician, talented artist, wonderful son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, friend, cat-dad, Best Husband.  Billy poured his entire heart & soul into every relationship, every gig, every chore.

He was an extraordinarily talented, gracious, kind and generous man.  His humor wicked, very silly, crude and came off sweet doin’ it.  Just hilarious.  Beautiful laugh, and a very handsome dude.

He was a God-Loving man…unpretentious, honest, gentle and strong.

Billy was the groove-master.  He could groove, man, and he never forgot that it was all about ‘one’.

‘Groove in Peace, Billy…ain’t no rest for the Funky’

We hope you can make it to Billy’s memorial service and / or the reception immediately following.

    Dear Gwen,

Words cannot adequately express how sad I am for the loss of Bill, and also how much I pray for comfort for you in this time. I’ve had the pleasure to serve in ministry with Bill on numerous occasions at church and on the road. I’m especially grateful for the time he came to do an assembly for my 4th graders. Bill was probably one of the most dear people I’ve encountered in music. His smile, his awesome dance moves while groovin’, his genuineness, his contagious joy are matchless. He made a significant impact on this earth, and I know He’s basking in God’s glory even now. I pray that you will be comforted during this time. I’m so sorry for your loss.

    Love,
    Angel

  2. We have lost a very gentle friend. Never once saw him upset. I will try to be more like “Billy Boy”. I can call him that name because his father-in-law, and my best friend, called him
    by that name.
Gwenn, be strong and we will see you soon. God Bless you!

  3. We are so sad to hear about Bill and feel very lucky to have been able to get to know him when he was in Florida. We loved his awesome bass playing, his extraordinary humor, his funky shoes and his contagious smile! Our fond memories of the fun we had together will be in our hearts forever. Love, Bill’s fellow cat parents: Deb and Pat

I am very saddened and shocked by Bill’s sudden demise. I will miss Bill, his smile and humor. I pray you have all the strength to get through this tough time.
Please let me know, if I can be of any help.
