Obituary

~ billyonthebass ~

A fine musician, talented artist, wonderful son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, friend, cat-dad, Best Husband.  Billy poured his entire heart & soul into every relationship, every gig, every chore.

He was an extraordinarily talented, gracious, kind and generous man.  His humor wicked, very silly, crude and came off sweet doin’ it.  Just hilarious.  Beautiful laugh, and a very handsome dude.

He was a God-Loving man…unpretentious, honest, gentle and strong.

Billy was the groove-master.  He could groove, man, and he never forgot that it was all about ‘one’.

‘Groove in Peace, Billy…ain’t no rest for the Funky’

We hope you can make it to Billy’s memorial service and / or the reception immediately following.

  1. Dear Gwen: We were so sad to hear about Bill. The times that we had talked with him, he was always a sweet and gentle man. If you need anything, we are here for you. You are in our prayers. May God keep you in peace during this difficult time.

  2. Dear Gwen,

My heart goes out to you. Bill was a great guy and I really enjoyed seeing him play and going to Steely Dan with the two of you.

Max sends his regards as well. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call.

    Love,

    Rose Mary

  3. Dearest Gwen,
Nooshin and I are very saddened and heartbroken. It’s always hard to lose a loved one specially one’s spouse.
Please accept our deepest, sincere, and heartfelt condolences on Bill’s tragic and sudden passing. We will pray to God for the progress of his soul and for patience and steadfastness for you and your family. We share and feel your lose and mourn with you during these difficult and sad times.
Bill was a kind and gentle soul and uplifted everyone’s heart with his music and smile. I’m sure he’s doing the same in the realms above and will watch over you and his loved ones.

    We love you very much

  4. Steven Wong says:

Bill was my guitar teacher and he was really good. He was funny and helped me learn a lot. I will miss him.

  5. Dear Gwen,
I am so sorry for your loss. When I first moved out here in the late 70’s. Bill and Mario were to young to get in the venue I was playing at so they would hang around by the back door listening. I first met him while on break. They would be waiting for us to come out and talk to them.To watch him grow into a Godly man, great musician and such a gracious person was a honor. I was blessed to call him my friend. If there is anything you need we are here for you.
    God Bless you,
    Vernon&Valerie Porter
