  1. It’s so hard to say goodbye to the most amazing man I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He was my best friend, my mentor, the life of the party, my hero and best of all my Dad. He was a very kind and distinguished gentleman from the greatest generation our planet has ever known. He fought bravely with honor over Germany during WWII in the B24 bomber to ensure our freedom. He received his bachelors and masters degree in education at USC, then taught children as a teacher and then led teachers as a highly respected principal. He was the man’students, teachers, administrators and parents alike, all loved and thought the world of him.

He had the most fascinating stories and I would love to hear them over and over!! He would keep the crowd entertained with all of his jokes and stories whether from the dinner table or the podium at his school. I was always so extremely proud to be his son, just as much as he was of me and all of his children! He lived for his family and not a day has gone by without knowing his unconditional love and warmth. I cherished every moment we got to spend together, and our nightly chats. I will forever miss him and I will think about him each day of my life.

It’s impossible to measure the amount of grief my family is experiencing, but I know he loved us and he knew how much he was loved. His “Irish Eyes” will always be smiling in our hearts and though his struggle for life is over, his “Fight On” attitude will endure and be passed on as the sweetest memories we could possibly have. Thank you so much for being such a great man, words can’t not express how much I love you Dad!

I just wanted to send my condolences to the Leahy family. Your dad was a wonderful man, I first met him when I was 13 at SJF where Charlotte and I became friends. I’ve been in your home, at family events and got to witness first hand your fathers kindness and generosity throughout the years. Your dad was an incredibly selfless giving man who was always so kind to me and for that I will always hold the fondest memories of him in my heart. My deepest sympathies to you all at this difficult time. Your dad will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
