Obituary

Bill “Skip” Roberts

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Bill, Skip” Roberts, beloved husband, father, brother, Papa, and friend to many. Bill passed away on May 13, 2023 at the age of 64 after a long and brave battle with cancer. His determination, tireless perseverance, immense strength, and unwavering courage exemplified the depth of love he had for his family.

Bill was born on January 8th, 1959, in Endicott, NY. He was the son of Joanna (Platt) and William Kuhns and later adopted by Dr. William Roberts. He grew up in Vestal, NY with his brothers Greg, Jeff, Bill, and George. Bill attended Elmira College and earned a degree in Accounting. After college he married his high school sweetheart, Kathi Davis, and moved to southern California. His career later led him to Utah where he advanced in global supply chain. During those 12 years, he enjoyed camping, skiing, and golfing with his family and friends. In 2006, Bill took a career opportunity back in southern California where he continued the remainder of his successful career.

Bill was a devoted husband to his wife, Kathi, for 40 years. Together, they raised four children, Jackie, Brittany, Kristi, and Ryan. Bill was a loving and supportive father who always put his family first. You would often find him coaching, cheering and being their #1 fan. He later enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up. His passion for golf brought him so much enjoyment and created many memories with his family and friends. He was a dedicated sports fan to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and Syracuse Orangemen. He was the life of the party and you would always find him on the dance floor.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His kind heart, infectious smile, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He is predeceased by his mother Joanna Roberts, his father William C Kuhns, and his adoptive father Dr. William L Roberts. He is survived by his wife Kathi Roberts, children Jacklyn (Kevin) Swick, Brittany (Matt) O’Brian, Kristi (Joe) Loken, Ryan (Rachel Linard) Roberts, brothers Greg (Mary Jo) Roberts, Jeff (Sue) Roberts, Bill Roberts, Dr. George (Kathi) Roberts, grandchildren Kaylin, Adalynn, and Maverick Swick, and many nieces and nephews.

“They whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now wherever we are.” We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the entire family with such a loss. Knowing Bill over the past decade plus has been a joy and pleasure for us. His fight was one of courage, resilience and tenacity and the only consolation with his loss is knowing he is no longer suffering. Rest in peace my friend and know that you will always be with us in mind and spirit. Neil & Kathy Morrison
