Obituary

William Allan Keating Jr. passed away on March 14th 2018 at the age of 12.  Will is survived by his parents, Bill and Gina Keating, and his loving sisters, Julia and Abigail.  Born October 05, 2005 in Worcester Massachusetts, Will resided in Holden, MA until he moved to Laguna Niguel, CA in 2012.

Will’s passion for baseball surpassed everything.  An avid Red Sox fan, Will’s jersey number was always 34 in honor of one of his favorite players.  A pitcher and first baseman, his favorite place was in a ballpark whether playing or watching a game.  Will’s effort and sportsmanship earned him the respect and friendship of those around him. Will will forever be remembered for his smile and quick wit.

    Gina and Family,

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your son. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I felt as though I knew him from all the news and pictures his grandmother, Betty Ann, one of my dearest friends, has shared with me over the years. He was certainly nurtured and surrounded by the love of his family. May your fond memories of Will give you and your family the strength to heal and move forward.

I’m very sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine how difficult this is for you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. Will was such an awesome kid. It would always make me so happy to see how much fun he, Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Lexi would have together. He would always find ways to make all three of them feel included in everything. He always brightened up the house everytime he was there. He’s such a great kid always so loving and also so respectful to everyone around him. You guys did an amazing job raising him. My prayers will continue to be with you all.

  4. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your son, a fun and loving boy who allowed Sierra to hang with him. She looked at him like a brother and we will always remember the stories from her as well as Jaden and the carpool rides where Will loved messing with him. I remember his obsession with nerf darts/bullets and getting his sisters (including Sierra). Know that he is watching over and laughing at you now. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives and this charming, sweet boy. Please know we are there for you always. Love the Slusiewicz family

I am not sure how to find you, so hopefully this message reaches you. We did not know Will. But, a group of 7th graders at Niguel Hills Middle School learned about him, and immediately wanted to do something in his honor. When the boys heard about CHOC-OPI and the waiting time Will endured, they knew this is how they would help. The boys used their birthday money to make a donation. We are so sorry for your loss and hope the funds are raised in his honor to invest in a new machine. We just felt it was important for you to know that while the boys did not know him personally at Niguel Hills, they felt the need to honor him.

    Respectfully,
    Wavemakers Philanthropy Group
