Obituary

Wayne Anthony Brockman, 69, of Mission Viejo, California, beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many, died on May 29, 2014. He was born on February 8, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to Wayne and Dorothy Brockman.

Wayne grew up in New York and San Gabriel, California before moving to Mission Viejo. He graduated from Newtown High School in Queens, New York. He joined the Marines in 1964 and served bravely in Viet Nam receiving several awards for his outstanding service. Once a Marine, always a Marine! His favorite saying was “Ooh Rah”! He worked for 42 years for Boeing Aircraft in Long Beach where he made many good friends. Wayne enjoyed his home in Casta del Sol where he resided for 34 years.

Wayne is survived by his close family – sisters, Dorothea Wilson and Candace Iamurri; brothers-in-law, John Wilson and Larry Iamurri; nieces and nephews – Sandra and Jim Burgess, Rick and Sandra Maas, Victoria Iamurri, Gino Iamurri; and grand nieces and nephews, Brianna and Jacob, Lila and Tor, Sydney and Jared, and Jake and Sevryn. He loved family gatherings for holidays and was always the favorite uncle!

He looked forward to being with his good friends in his small group Bible Study each week and attending services every Sunday at Saddleback Community Church. A favorite outing was to Bingo every Wednesday with his close friend, Martha. Lunches out with his devoted caregiver, Mark, were always a special treat.

Wayne’s sweet, positive nature will be greatly missed by so many. He was a gentle soul and his devotion to family and his love of country will always be remembered.

A graveside Memorial will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at the El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630. Friends are invited to a gathering at his home following the service.

An exquisite orchid was delivered to the graveside ceremony yesterday – it is a stunningly beautiful white orchid in a lovely square container – we brought it back to Wayne’s home for all to see and share – MANY thanks for your heartfelt tribute to him and for the flowers you sent on behalf of yourself and Randy Robbins.
    Blessings
    Dorothea Wilson (Wayne’s sister)
