  1. We were very sorry to hear about Jake’s passing. Jake and I go back almost 50 years. I first met Jake in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where we both lived. I moved to California in 1964 and met up with him again. We were both single and we had some good times and great parties. One party I will never forget was his birthday party at his house in Costa Mesa in Augest 1965 where I first met the lady I married in December 1968. He was at our wedding and we had another great time together. We just had our 40th wedding anniversary last December. I would usually talk to Jake every month or so and try to have lunch or dinner 2 or 3 times a year.

Anyway, Kirsten and I are sad to see him go but we are both happy we went to his birthday party in August 1965.

  4. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO JAKE’S FAMILY AND TO NANCY AND HER FAMILY. I SHARED MANY HAPPY TIMES WITH JAKE AND NANCY AND WILL NEVER FORGET THE GOOD TIMES WE ALL SHARED. BLESS YOU.

  5. Condolences to Jake’s family on behalf of my dad, Warren J. Hocknell “Red”. Red has been a life long friend of Jake. Growing up and to this day I have heard Jake’s name in many of stories that they would allow little ears to hear probably tip of the iceberg. Red is living in Marin County at Pine Ridge Center near his step-daughter Lisa me. I’ll be bringing him a copy of the obituary and share any of his comments. Sounds like Jake was quite the character as I was too young to recall. Heartfelt thoughts to your family and friends.
