Obituary

Walter Gene Hale

Our beloved father and husband, Walter Gene Hale, passed away peacefully in his home on October 5, 2024 at the age of 77. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Hale, his children Lindsay Bartolotta and Greg Hale, his grandchildren Jack and Molly, his step-children Shawn Walden and Steven Sihilling, and his step-grandchildren Grant and Ben.

He was born in Eureka, California on May 4th, 1947. He had a lifelong passion for sports of all kinds, and loved to talk about it with anyone who would listen. He received a scholarship to play basketball for Saint Mary’s College of California until a knee injury ended a future career as an athlete, but that never stopped him from continuing to play and coach a variety of sports throughout his life. Golf. Bowling. Basketball. Soccer. The list goes on!

He met and married the love of his life, Kathy, in the year 2000, and they enjoyed a successful marriage and very full life. Together, they traveled extensively, enjoying concerts, dancing, long walks, family gatherings and adventures of every kind.

He is greatly missed by his family and friends… especially his general good humor and the sound of his laugh.

The funeral will be held at O’Connor Mortuary located at 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92653, on November 17th, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
