Obituary
On Friday, March 27, 2020, Waldtraut (Trudy) Bracken, our loving mother, passed away at the age of 92.
Trudy was born on January 2, 1928 in Potsdam, Germany to Wilhelm and Emily Ruediger. She grew up amid the turmoil of WWII. It was at the end of the war that she met and later married Richard Bracken, an American Army soldier. They raised three children, Rolf, Diane, and Reid.
She was not only a wonderful mother but also joined the work force, starting as a secretary. She went back to school earning an associate’s degree and eventually became a regional chemical sales manager in southern California where she flourished for over thirty years.
Trudy had a passion for life. She loved to travel which she did often, everything from returning many times back to family in Germany to taking a cruise on a small mail vessel plying the fjords of Norway. She lived her life to the fullest.
Trudy was a very giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Rolf, her daughter Diane, and her granddaughters, Christina and Kimberly.

Hallo Trudy’s Family . . My name is Heidi in Diamond Bar, CA. Trudy befriended me and my Mutti in Pala many years ago. She invited us to her beautiful Condo for a lunch and pool overlooking the Pacific. Mutti died in 2012 and Trudy remembered to send me a sympathy card. We only spoke German. At the time of our visit she showed me the wonderful album of her own mom and the family such talented musicians. I was even more amazed at the wonderful care and time she had with her own Mother. I took care of my Mutti 9 years. Trudy was always there friendly, and helpful, so wonderful. Last time I saw her with her son at Dana Point outdoor summer concert when my Mom was still alive. With sadness I just now learned she passed away not that long ago. And I’m still nearby. I hope her son and daughter are doing well and just remember I have such fond memories. She was my link to speaking German, as we were also born in Germany near Leipzig . .Please accept my condolences. Bitte Schreibt mir mal wenn ihr Zeit habt. Hallo Waltraud Brackens Family,
my name is Angelika Frei , I was married with Rüdiger (Roger) Frei and I remember aunts Trudy very good.
Last Time I meet her with her sister ,my mother in law,
Inge Groß this was 2006 in Germany and WE all together meet us to the funeral from Roger.
She was A wonderful friendly and nice Woman and I liked
her very much and send her Childrens my condulenses.
