Vivien (Hazboun) Dezwart, 68, passed away on April 22, 2026.
She was born on October 29, 1957, in Amman, Jordan, and came to the United States as an infant with her parents, Leila and Shukri (Sam) Hazboun. She was raised in Los Angeles before her family settled in Cypress, California.
Vivien built a life centered around caring for others. She worked as a registered dietician and later helped run her family’s deli, Daffy’s, where food and community came together. She had a true gift in the kitchen—especially when it came to her homemade soups. If Vivien made soup, it never stayed in just one home; she made enough to feed many, often sharing with neighbors and friends. Feeding people was how she showed love.
She had a creative spirit and a passion for bringing people together. She loved catering and party planning, always finding joy in creating something special for others. When her daughter was young, Vivien spent time doing craft shows, making yard signs, holiday décor, themed pins, and birdhouse decorations—her creativity seemed endless.
Vivien had a generous heart and a deep commitment to helping others. She volunteered regularly at her church, preparing meals for monthly luncheons for individuals with special needs—something she cared deeply about.
She faced life with strength and resilience, living with lupus for most of her adult life and later battling dementia. Through it all, she was cared for with unwavering love and devotion by her husband, who stood by her side as her caregiver for many years.
Vivien met the love of her life as a teenager, though their story truly began years later. They began dating in 1978, were engaged in 1979, and married on June 14, 1980, in Cypress. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and dedication to one another.
In 1988, Vivien became a mother through adoption, welcoming her daughter, Lindsey Marie, into the world with open arms and a full heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fred, and her daughter, Lindsey, who will carry her love, traditions, and generous spirit forward.
Vivien will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, her incredible cooking, and her instinct to care for others. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
