Obituary

Virginia L. Quintana, a longtime resident of Buena Park, California passed away on April 30, 2013.

Virginia was born June 17, 1924 in Worcester, MA. She had 2 brothers, Virgil and William; and 4 sisters, Robina, Violet, Pearl and Marjorie.

During WWII she worked for the war effort making ammunition for the troops. After the War, Virginia worked for the A & P Tea Co., as a cashier until 1951. Virginia moved to Los Angeles, California in 1952. She met her future husband Manny, while working in a car dealership. They were married in 1958 and shortly after moved to their first house in Buena Park where they raised their 2 children, Cindy and Chris.

Virginia was always ready to travel. She visited England, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and her favorite Las Vegas. She loved sunshine, boating, swimming, dancing and scenic rides to the Pacific Ocean. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining with her husband and her home was always open to friends and family.

She volunteered at the Nearly New Thrift Store in Anaheim, CA and she was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

She was an animal lover and had many pets throughout the years.

Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Kevin Barry, son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Beth Quintana, granddaughter Brittney Quintana, sister Marjorie Dorsey, brother William R. Marley and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Cypress, 5202 Lincoln Ave., Cypress, CA 90630. A reception will follow at the VFW Hall Post 8173, 805 E. Sycamore St., Anaheim, CA 92805.
