Dearest Vicky — You were already fighting your battle by the time I met you and Maggie. I know you fought long and hard and courageously. And I know your devoted wife was always sitting vigil at your bedside on those much-too-frequent hospital stays. We first met when you called on me to help your little “Chimichanga” learn some better manners, and it was then that I learned of your great love for animals and passion for helping those who weren’t so lucky to live the pampered lives of our OC babies. I hope my sweet Roxy, who passed just a few weeks before you, was there at the gate to greet you with warm pittie kisses and lead you to a beautiful meadow where you can laugh and run and play together…. Maggie — I’m here whenever you need me. Much love – Faith

  2. Blessings to the entire Murray Family, her circle of friends, and especial blessings to Maggie. Vicky was an intelligent, articulate, funny and dedicated soul. She was stoic in the face of adversity, helpful to her doctoral cohort, and the first person in the world to receive a Doctorate in Organization Change. What an awesome and remarkable lady.

  3. My Dearest Aunt Vicky,

I cannot believe you are gone, you were far too young. I will cherish the memories I have from holiday gatherings as a kid, to visiting with you these past years and the non-stop laughter.

I am so thankful for the last several years since we got to see more of you, Margaret and the rest of the family. It was truly a blessing. Thank you for welcoming us into your home.

You were a kind and generous animal-loving human being, my favorite kind :-). I can’t thank you and Margaret enough for supporting the documentary that is so near and dear to my heart. I’m only sorry you weren’t able to see the finished product.

Love you and miss you lots. The only thing I am thankful for is that you are no longer in any pain. Rest peacefully.

    Love, – Allie

    Vicky,
Looking back at all the times we shared over the last 35 yrs, it’s hard to believe you are really gone now. I remember when we met our first day of Service Rep training at Ma Bell, and how we connected immediately. The lifelong friendship that you , Maggie, and i shared since then has been priceless. You both have been as much family as my own. You always gave great guiding and loving advice when I needed a kick in the butt, or just an ear when my heart was broken. I promise you I will take good care of Maggie until she sees you again, and know you are always in our hearts.

    Vic,
I’ve been putting this off-I just can’t face the reality that you’re not here anymore. I still start to text you or send a new pic of Gracie, I’m sorry you didn’t get to meet her-she would have warmed your heart! I found a poem and it speaks to exactly how I feel:
“God saw you were getting tired,
And a cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you,
    And whispered, “Come to me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
    As you slipped away.
And though we loved you dearly,
    We couldn’t make you stay.
    Your golden heart stopped beating,
Your tired hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
    He only takes the best.”
I will miss you so much, I will keep my promises to you and above all I will remember how you and Margaret were there for me. You always said, “This too shall pass.” But time doesn’t seem to change anything-I miss you today as much as the day you passed, your voice, your wisdom, your love-I just miss you.
    Love You Always,
    Kel
