Obituary
Victor Grant Ponder passed away on March 13, 2017 at the age of 73 surrounded by the love of both immediate and extended family.
Vic was born on November 16, 1943 in Los Angeles. He proudly attended Cathedral High School, earned an Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Cal State Los Angeles, and a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University. Vic married his childhood sweetheart and spent his life devoted to his family. He suffered a stroke at the young age of 58 and showed his strong will and love for life by surviving many surgeries despite all the odds. He wanted to live, to spend each day in the company of his wife and his family. An accountant most of his life, Vic also was a veteran who served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Vic is survived by Mary Ponder, his wife of 52 years; his daughters Monique Paige, Vanessa Clauss, Noelle Munoz, Brianne Koenig, and their spouses; his nine granddaughters and grandsons Nathan, Harrison, Annalise, Serena, Grant, Tyler, Brandon, Nicolette, and Dean. He is also survived by his sisters Pamela Marquez and Dolores Cordero, his brother John Ponder, and their families.
Memorial services will be held on April 22nd, 1pm at St. Edwards Church, 33926 Calle La Primavera, Dana Point CA 92629. Cemetery interment with military honors will follow at 2:30pm at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA 92630. Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life and love of Vic at Brianne and Aaron Koenig’s, residence 2146 Camino Laurel, San Clemente, CA 92673.
