Obituary
Vernon Edler, Jr., age 93, died peacefully on June 24, 2014. Born October 16, 1920, Vern was a long-time resident of Newport Beach and a graduate of Stanford.
Starting his own aerospace company, Vern was both entrepreneur and adventurer. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially through sailing and hunting. Traveling the world, Vern’s favorite place remained his ranch retreat.
Vern lived a large and full life, and will be missed by four wonderful children, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.

I worked for the EDLER family in Newport Beach for many years … back in the 1960’s.
He (Vernon) was a fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants back in those days and he never missed
an occasion to work out a deal in his aerospace company in Newport Beach. I loved his
brother Don Edler, a down to earth guy with very few words to say but nevertheless a
nice guy. To bad the family didn’t honor Vernon with a memorial, I would have enjoyed
seeing the family and paying my respects. Vernon could be a handful at times this I do
understand.
