   (from Jason Abbott)Another of my best memories is going to the swap meet with grandma venie & she got both me & Jonathon our 1st airsoft guns. We played on the patio the rest of the day with those.

   Venie was our nextdoor neighbor in Sacramento from the early 1950s until the summer of 1962. My two brothers and myself were best friends with Venie and Earl’s two kids, Brenda and Jackie.
   I have many nice memories of Venie from the old “North Avenue” days in Sacramento. One time, after they moved to Tulare, my twin brother and I took a Greyhound bus down to Tulare to spend 5 days with Jackie. I remember Venie always being nice to us and she made sure that we were having a good time when we were visiting. I also remember Lonnie and Connie when we visited down there … they were just two years old. I remember Venie calling Lonnie “Buster”. I also remember Lonnie and Connie both sitting on the couch and rocking back and forth as fast as they could … they loved rocking on that couch! lol

   Just stumbled upon this obituary of Venie. I was very good friends with Connie during Jr/high school and some years later. We lost touch, as happens sometimes. Venie was always so good to me and was always wanting to feed me, LOL. I loved staying over at the Jackson’s home. RIP Miss Venie.
