Vaso Sanichas “Vasiliki” Hepler's Obituary

Hepler, Vaso Sanichas 'Vasiliki,' a long-time resident of Mission Viejo passed away March 31, 2008 of heart failure. She is preceded to heaven by her dear husband, Jesse, 'Hep'; and her beloved daughter Teresa, as well as her siblings John and Georgia.

Vaso was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was active in the Greek-American community. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Her family moved to Los Angeles in the thirties. Vaso was crowned Miss Helen of Troy, Miss Olympiad and Miss Quartermaster Corps. She traveled the world with her U.S. Air Force pilot husband, a member of the First Air Commandos who was introduced to her by her brother John.

She is remembered for her: love of Christ, devotion to family, delicious cooking, warm hospitality, artistic and musical talents, sense of adventure, eye for beauty, extensive memorization of Bible verses and for never getting a traffic ticket.

She is survived by: her devoted daughters, Tina and Stephanie; her loving grandsons, John and Thomas Colby; her dear sister, Florence Peters and her faithful canine companion Smokey.

The trisagion service will be 4/8/08 at 7 pm at O'Connor Mortuary, Laguna Hills 949 581-4300. The funeral service will be Wednesday, 4/9/08 at 10 am at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, Irvine.
