TRINIDAD G. BONIFACIO
MAY 19, 1940- NOVEMBER 29, 2020
Trinidad was born in Manila, Philippines in 1940. She was the 4 th child of Juliana Canonizado and Rodrigo Garcia. She grew up in Manila with her siblings Soterito Garcia, Pilar Advani, Rodrigo 'Junior' Garcia and Milagros Reyes. She was fun loving, a music lover with a tremendous voice and a faithful catholic with the kindest heart and soul.
Trinidad studied in the University of the Philippines at the Conservatory of Music and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry.
Plans to emigrate to the United States and start an independent life were upended when Trinidad met Rodolfo Bonifacio, a US Navy sailor, who swept her off her feet. Their 43-year marriage included two children, Angela and Anthony, and a dynamic life which took them to various locations in the United States, Guam and the Philippines. Each location was a new adventure where she would meet life-long friends, seek joy singing in the church choir, hone her bowling skills (her all-time favorite sport) and balance life as a working mother. Once they settled in New Jersey, she worked as a chemist in the consumer goods and Pharmaceutical industries and finally retired after a 30-year long career. She is the grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren: Sebastian, Isabella, Sophia and Lorenzo.
Trinidad will be remembered for her unwavering commitment as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and caregiver. Rest in Peace.
