Thomas Kevin White

October 23, 1965 – April 1, 2018

Thomas Kevin White, age 52, passed from this world April 1 in Irvine, CA, knowing he was loved by friends and family. He courageously faced the uncertainty of his last few days and–in the end–was at peace. Tom was a fun-loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and colleague.

Tom was born in Boston, MA and adopted into the loving arms of Marge and Bill White within a few short months. He spent his childhood years in La Habra, CA, enjoying everything from achieving the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts to computers to his beloved backyard chickens. Tom graduated from Servite High School (1984), then Fullerton College (1987) and San Diego State University (1991, go Aztecs!) before settling in Irvine, CA.

Tom was a generous and entertaining uncle who leaves behind cherished memories of times at places like Dave & Busters, Legoland, and at the beach. He generously mentored his niece, Grace, and nephew, Mateo, in all-things-video-gaming.

Tom had a fruitful career and made many lifelong friendships through his work in the insurance industry. He thoroughly enjoyed time with friends, a good IPA, a Chargers or Angels game, and his greyhound rescue dogs Athena and Bella. Tom’s friends remember him tenderly for his “salty sense of humor, his quick wit, and pretty much everything else about him.” Tom was witty and bright and made people laugh. “It was always a fun adventure when Tom was around.”

Tom is survived by his mother Margaret White Cannon, his second father David Cannon, his dog Bella, sister Kathryn White, sister-in-law Sue Hobza, niece Eleanor Grace Ravenwhite, nephew Mateo Brian White Hobza, his close friends Mike Reynolds and Suzy Schultz, and his Rochester NY aunts and cousins.

Tom is preceded in death by his father William R. White (Bill), his dog Athena, his aunt Jeanette White, aunt Ruth Cordina Damm and uncle John Damm.
