Obituary

Thomas F. Sullivan, born July 6, 1937, in Buffalo, New York, to Thomas and Virginia Sullivan, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born and raised in Buffalo, Tommy lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to family, friends, and his many passions.

Tommy was the beloved husband of the late Gerry, the love of his life. They met in high school and were married in 1965. Together, they enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, traveling to visit family, and exploring destinations around the world. After Gerry’s passing, he relocated to California in 2014 to be near his brother Richard (Lindalee) and family. There, he became a cherished presence in the lives of his brother, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His warmth, fantastic sense of humor, and boundless generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A proud veteran, Tom served honorably in the U.S. Army before embarking on a successful 30-year career with General Motors. His strong work ethic and dedication were hallmarks of his time with GM and carried over into every facet of his life.

Baseball was a lifelong passion for Tom, whether he was cheering on his favorite teams or reminiscing about games from years past. In his later years, he brought that same love of teamwork and camaraderie to his San Sebastian community, where he organized and coordinated games and activities that brought people together.

Tom will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, and his ability to create joy and laughter in the simplest of moments.

He is survived by his brother Richard Sullivan; sister-in-law Lindalee; nephew Craig Sullivan (Lori); nieces Kim Gallagher (Rick) and Keli Peterson (Trent); three great-nephews (Conrick, Thomas, Henry); five great-nieces (Colby, Natalie, Julia, Lucy, Abby); and nephew Russel Zizzo.

A memorial service will be held on January 25th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church in Laguna Woods, CA.

Tommy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
