Tom has always been part of my journey throughout my entire life. My memories are endless and he treated everyone with respect and fairness no matter who they were. He had love in his soul and I will miss him dearly. I love you Tom.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen.

Tom was a good man. A gentle soul, he was always, always, the guy who would make sure everyone felt welcome. When I shared the news of Tom’s declining health, my mother, despite a somewhat failing memory, expressed a profound sadness and immediately recalled meeting Tom the day our family moved to Torrance. She said he was the first person to knock on our door. She thought he had had been sent by the welcoming committee because he had a big smile, gave her the history of the neighborhood and asked a great many questions about our family, the kids, where we were from, etc. At a very young age (8), he handled himself like the town mayor. He obviously made a big impression on her and I am profoundly grateful to him for giving her that lasting recollection.
These engaging traits remained evident throughout Tom’s life. I was blessed to be a pretty constant fixture at the Baldwin home and joined them on many of the family trips. Tom, like all of the Baldwin’s, made me feel welcome and part of the family. I was privileged to be able to visit with Tom over the past few months. Despite all the hardships and challenges he was facing, he was always far more interested in what was going on in my life than his own. He dealt with his failing health with a courage and selflessness that will remain with me forever.
God bless Tom and the Baldwin Family.

My deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the Baldwin family. Tom was my first and best friend on Glenburn Avenue. I too remember just moving to Torrance, looking out of our garage window and this little boy staring at my from the sidewalk. I went out to say hello, he asked me if I wanted to be friends, and that was that! We were thick as thieves all through our childhood! I posted some photos on the timeline and I wish I could find more. I will always cherish our friendship. As long as we remember him, he will always be with us!
