Obituary

LANG, THOMAS DOUGLAS.

A beloved Husband, loving Father, adoring Grandfather, and caring friend. He passed away on Wednesday, December 20th, 2006 in Laguna Niguel, CA after a sudden acceleration of pulmonary fibrosis. Tom was the youngest of 10 children .

Born to George and Julia Lang on July 3, 1927 in Williston, North Dakota. He moved to Southern California in 1941. Tom graduated from Van Nuys High School as president of his senior class in 1945 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he attended Loyola Univ. in West Los Angeles and St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. In 1950,

He married Martha and together they raised two daughters, Nancy and Jayne.

In 1953, Tom began a sales career with United Motors Service, a division of GM. He held several field sales and management positions and accepted
transfers to El Paso, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Costa Mesa, CA and Dallas, TX
before moving to the corporate headquarters of GM in Detroit, MI where he held the position of Area Sales Manager- Eastern Division and later as their National Marketing Manager. Tom was transferred to Southern CA in 1986, where he retired with Martha in Laguna Niguel, CA. Tom became an active member at St. Edward Catholic Church, various neighborhood activities and enjoyed playing golf.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Martha; daughter Nancy Hankins and son-in-law Randal Hankins of Laguna Niguel, CA; daughter Jayne Crockett and son-in-law David Crockett of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Melissa and Katie Hankins, David, Jr. and Ben Crockett; sisters-in-law Arlone, Phyllis, and Sybil Lang; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 ~ 10:00 A.M. at St Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point, CA. A Rosary will precede the Mass at 9:45 A.M.

Private burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the American Lung Association.
