Obituary

Thomas Anthony Kiklas, 79, died April 15, 2010 at his home in Laguna Woods, after a short illness. Tom was born on December 29, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the youngest of four children, and was preceded in death by his two brothers and sister. He graduated with an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1958. Tom achieved the rank of Master Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 30 years in the Missiles and Space division of McDonnell Douglas. Tom’s passions included his family, which was evidenced by his awesome family reunions, deep sea fishing, traveling, golf and volunteering his time at the Thomas House Shelter where he implemented their computer system.

Tom Kiklas is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters Mary Nicholson Cameron, Theresa Flynn Jamie, Susan Bowles Jim and son, Thomas R. Kiklas. He is further survived by his first wife, Barbara; five stepchildren; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and grandson, Tanner Flynn.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Thomas House Shelter in Garden Grove, Ca.

    During the 1980’s Gary was my cashier at Santa Anita Center. I was proud to know Gary, he was very nice to work with and a fun loving person. He was always honest, dependable and a good friend. I so sorry that this happened to him. I will pray that God sends comfort and strenth to his family..
