I didn’t know Tess but I knew Pete from the old days at (then) McDonnell-Douglas. He worked with my Dad and kept in touch with him and with me about my Dad. Based on the devotion Pete showed Tess and the depth of his love for her, she must have been very special. I wish the entire family peace and comfort in knowing that you served her well on this earth and that she is still in your midst.

There are people you meet who inspire you and change your life. Pete Christie is one of those people. Pete is a friend and mentor and daily reminder that if you want to accomplish something, you can. But the guiding light and supportive force behind Pete’s dedication was Tess. Seldom have I heard a man still speak of his spouse in such loving terms as Pete spoke of Tess after so many years of marriage. His eyes twinkled even more when he spoke of her. He was motivated to make her proud. When I saw them together at occasions the love was so evident.
I know this phase of his life will be extremely difficult, but the light of Tess’s love will still inspire Pete, I am sure. As I mentioned to Pete after Tess’s passing, that heaven is now graced with a new angel by the name of Tess and in time, Pete will be able to live a life in her honor.
    Much love, Julie

  5. My condolences to the Christie Family. I worked for Pete for a number of years and while working at the McDonnell Douglas Lomita facility in the early ’70’s, our office had a window overlooking a parking area. Each Friday Tess would pull up and wait for the pay master to come out with Pete’s check. I was always struck by her beauty as she waited in her vehicle. In subsequent years I had the pleasure of meeting her at a social gathering. She was such a classy lady!
