  3. Tammy was my neighbor for 16 years. She had a heart of gold. She was always so pleasant and so friendly to us all.

One of the funniest memories I have of Tammy is her driving. She was a traveling sales woman, but was too afraid to drive on the freeway. So she would always leave for her appointments hours in advance to take side streets.

She was also a very slow driver. Whenever there was traffic backed up & going slow on major streets near our homes, we neighbors figured Tammy must have been ahead 🙂

She knew her driving was funny and we all laughed about it.

Tammy loved our family, but she was especially close to my daughter Brooke. Brooke used to go and water their plants once a week. Tammy would share stories of her adventurous life with Brooke. Brooke loved to hear her stories.

Tammy was loved and will be missed.

  4. I have known Tammy since the 70s we used to work at Randy Jones car wash in Escondido. She sure could sell that polish wax. We had a lot of fun working there. I sure remember those days . She was great around my girls. And then she fell in love with Hutch and moved up north. Will miss you . Claudia

  5. Tamara had a lively personality. She was always upbeat and enjoyed being around people. She was a people person. This is probably why she had a successful career in marketing although hard work would have contributed to it as well. Tamara was no slouch. She played hard, but also worked hard.

She had good taste and loved to decorate and redecorate her home. She also had flare in the way she dressed, selecting fashionable clothes as a way to express her personality. Her three big, fluffy cats also showed her heart for style. They are beautiful to behold.

Tamara was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Jesse Mayo and Shirley Brady Calhoon on February 25, 1950. In the fourth grade, she moved to Long Island in New York, first to Port Washington and then to Jericho. She graduated from Jericho High School in 1968. She ultimately found her way to southern California. It was a good fit as Tamara was a real “California girl.”
