Suzy Aguirre

Susan (Suzy) Ann Aguirre, aged 67, gained her wings after a brief battle with pneumonia.  She was surrounded by her nearest loved ones at the time she passed.

Suzy was born on February 6, 1956, to Jack and Peggy Campbell, in Downy, CA. Growing up, she was an avid horseback rider and water skier. After graduating from Downy High in 1974, Suzy went on to study accounting at the University of Southern California where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1978. After college, Suzy was not only a part of the family business, Campbell Lodgings, but also devoted her life to God, bred and showed champion dogs, and was a DJ in her free time. Suzy spent most of her time in Laguna Hills, CA, Waikoloa, HI, and Capo Beach, CA. In 1996, Suzy married Steven Aguirre, with whom she then shared her life.

Suzy was the biological mother of Braidee Foote, Jordan Foote, Makenzie Foote, and Blake Aguirre, but also mother to Steven Aguirre Jr. and Amie Redmond when their families melded. Suzy’s greatest love was her family; she was an exceptionally giving wife and mother. She never met a stranger and friends became family. Her house was always open to whomever needed refuge. She always offered help to those in need and adored all animals, from her domestic dogs and horses to the wild Nēnē and turkeys. Suzy loved adventure, golf, and walking, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Suzy is survived by her husband, Steven, her brother, Marty, her children, Braidee, Jordan, Makenzie, Blake, Steven Jr., and Amie, and her grandchildren, Anastasia, Angelica, Stephanie, and Evelyn. She is predeceased by her parents, Jack and Peggy, her brothers, Steve and Alan, and her grandson, Ryan.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Nēnē donation fund with Friends of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park or Pets for Patriots. A private celebration of life at her family residence will be hosted on June 2, 2023, at 1pm.
