Obituary

Susan Lynne Davids
March 4,  1958 – February 10, 2023

Susan Davids, of Laguna Hills, passed away after a courageous battle with metastatic pancreatic cancer on the evening of February 10, 2023 at the age of 64, leaving our hearts broken. After days of visits with friends and family, Susan departed in the presence of her devoted sister, brother-in-law and close friend. The beloved daughter of Charles “Red” and Jeanette Davids, Susan is survived by her sister Pam Mallon (Charlie), four nieces and nephews and spouses Bryan (Megan), A.J.(Kelly), Erin (Cameron) and Matt (Lauren) and her nine grandnieces and grandnephews Charlie, James, Max, MacKenzie, Maren, Jackson, Hunter, Beckham and Patrick.

Susan, first and foremost, was dedicated to her loving and growing family. She was a constant source of love and affection and a mainstay at all holidays, birthdays, family and sporting events. Known affectionately as “Aunt Sue” – even to those without family ties – Susan was most importantly a wonderful sister.  She was charitable with her time and treasure supporting the efforts of many but especially fond of  championing the missions of  Guardian Scholars at CSUF and House of Hope.

The family wishes to thank her many doctors, nurses, patient care technicians, palliative care teams at Saddleback Memorial, Cedars Sinai, and Providence Mission hospitals.  Your care of Susan was at times herculean always considerate and compassionate in trying to reduce her pain.  In lieu of flowers the family invites friends to make a donation in Susan’s name to support the ongoing efforts of Guardian Scholars https://give.fullerton.edu/davidsgs or House of Hope in care of the Orange County Rescue Mission, One Hope Drive, Tustin California 92782, please note House of Hope on your donation.

Susan will be put to final rest in a private family ceremony at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Lake Forest.  A celebration of life will be held on March 12, 2023 at Coto de Caza Golf and Country Club.

Susan was a colleague and dear friend of mine for more than 25 years. She was a bright spot in my work day as we bounced ideas off one another in all things insurance related. As Director- Risk Management, Susan coached me through many a deposition, lending her support. Recently, I had the pleasure of getting to know Susan on a more personal level. Throughout Susan’s courageous battle with cancer she displayed grace, dignity and an optimism that was truly inspirational. She departed this earth too soon and will be greatly missed. To Pam, Charlie and your beautiful family, you have my sincere sympathy and condolences for the loss of your sister and Aunt Sue. Family was was everything to Susan. She expressed to me on several occasions how much she appreciated your love and amazing support. May Susan rest in eternal peace.

My condolences to Susan family. Susan and I worked together at Donahue Schriber for 17 years. I’m those years, she would spoil us with her amazing food and baked treats and especially me with her popcorn. I will always cherish our fond memories together. She will be greatly missed. Rest in paradise my friend. Peace be with all of us until we meet again.
