Obituary
Steven William Strom was born to William H. Strom and Sandra K. Strom in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on March 16, 1975. From an early age, Steve showed an interest in sports and played peewee ice hockey when the family moved to Duluth. About three and a half years later, Steve was joined by his brother, Paul G. Strom, (married to Kimberly Strom) and reside in La Quinta. Steve enjoyed traveling and since his father was an airline captain he was able to see other countries. Fishing, snowboarding, watching Vikings games and spending time with his family and friends was how Steve liked to spend his time. After marrying Courtney Augustine (who preceded him in death) they had a son Liam, who is now thirteen. Steve was a much loved parent to Courtney’s twin daughters, Kobie and Kendyll Thomas. They are now twenty-two years old, and graduates of San Diego State University. Steve’s co-workers at the County of Orange remembered him fondly, as always being cheery with a big smile. Steve was a civil engineer by way of education and trade, and worked for Orange County Public Works Survey Department for twenty-two years. He leaves behind many grieving family members, friends and co-workers.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the children during this difficult time for you all. I hope you find some peace in knowing that your father was well respected and was a vital member of the OC Survey family and he will be missed.
I had the pleasure of working with him here in Santa Ana and enjoyed his company and like the words in the obituary, I could also count on his friendly smile and smiling eyes. He was a good man.
All the best to you all as you go through your life and know that your mom and dad will continue to be watching over you. I have found peace in my like knowing that my parents are still in my life and I thing about them and pray every day for them.
May the good lord find peace for you.

Steve left this world much too early. I had the pleasure of working with him at the County of Orange offices in Santa Ana. He always had a friendly smile, especially when he talked about his son Liam. It was evident that Liam was his world. I can only imagine the heartache this has caused for his family and I hope that the happy memories you all shared with Steve will brighten your days. He is certainly missed and will never be forgotten.
My prayers go out to Steve’s family, especially his kids.

Steve was an instrument man on my survey crew, he will be highly missed. Very intelligent, and a problem solver, as well as great father and friend. God bless his soul!
