Obituary

Steven P. Werner

Steven “Steve” P. Werner, 49 of Mission Viejo, California, passed away at home with family by his side on Saturday, March 17, 2018.  He was born November 26, 1968 in Connersville, Indiana to Jerry and Donna (Borchelt) Werner.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gina, and children Sloane and Henry. He is predeceased by his son, baby Paul Thomas.

Steve was a graduate of University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Economics.  He was an active member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.  He loved road cycling, golf, sailing and car-racing.  Steve had a successful career in sales for several investment firms.   In 2004 he was diagnosed with brain cancer and underwent many surgeries, chemotherapies and radiation treatments.  He never complained.  He never lost hope.  He never gave up.

My sweet Earth Angel Gina, Werner kids and extended family, my love and prayers are with you now, and always. Gina, you are the most beautiful example of God’s love and an inspiration to all of us. Jerry and Donna, you are incredible, adoring and devoted parents that Steve was so blessed to call his own. Thank you for sharing Steve, and your whole family, with me … I am touched beyond words, and am always here, as your friend, ~ anything, anytime? Our loss is Heaven’s, and all of those Angels’ gain. That must have been one heck of a St. Patrick’s Day welcoming party for Steven PATRICK Werner!
     I love you all
