Steven Lee Lineberger, a man known for his warmth, humor, and dedication to family, passed away peacefully at his Capistrano Beach home on February 18th, 2024. He was 70 years old.

A Long Beach native and the youngest of four (Chuck, Susan, and Jim), Steve was born on October 15 ^th , 1953 to Jim and Dottie Lineberger. From his childhood days on the beaches of Alamitos Bay to attending Woodrow Wilson High School and San Diego State University, he built a life rich with connections.

For over 30 years, Steve was a pillar of operations for the Teamsters at iconic Southern California racetracks such as Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, and Del Mar. But his true passion was his family and close friends.

He raised his sons, Steven and Christopher, in Seal Beach and Laguna Hills before finally retiring in his beloved Capistrano Beach. He also doted on his grandchildren – Jazmine, Gianna, Jackson, and Elise – always up for a beach adventure or afternoon movie matinee. He was a constant source of love and support, ensuring his family always knew they made him proud.

Steve was also a man of many nicknames, but whichever you knew him by he was sure to bring laughter and a warm embrace to all in his company. He was a caring and dedicated friend and thrived in the company of others, sharing experiences from travel to concerts to the beach. Whether conquering a crossword puzzle or cheering on his local sports teams, Steve lived life to the fullest.

Steve leaves behind a loving family, including his sons with their wives, Corrine and Roxanna, and his cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Joan, his long-time partner, Rebeca, and her daughter, Nelly. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
