Steven Forbes Lewallen ‘Daddy’
Steve, as he preferred to be called, was born in Anaheim, California to Ray and Marcella Lewallen and then moved out to Corona, California where he grew up. He spent a few years in Sydney, Australia then returned to California where he went to the UC Riverside and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Minor in Criminology.
After his graduation ceremony, he shaved off his sideburns and moved to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas where he had his first interview at Tandy Corporations. He got the job and met his future wife, Mary Ridling, in the same office. Just before his transfer to a new state, he asked Mary if she would like to ‘come with him’ and she said ‘yes’. They moved to San Francisco, California after a honeymoon at Disneyland. Christina, their only daughter, was born on February 11, 1985 just after they moved to Irvine, California and he spoiled her rotten.
Steve loved to people watch at Disneyland, go to the Sheriff’s shooting range in Anaheim, and drive his daughter and her friends crazy with his silly antics.
He is survived by his wife Mary and their daughter Christina, his sisters Judy Lewallen and Cathy Raible, her husband Nicholas and their two sons, Andy and Daniel Raible. He will also be remembered by close to a dozen of his daughter’s closest friends as ‘Daddy’ or ‘Daddy #2’.
He was larger than life, the most generous of men, and incredibly selfless. He was an example to all who knew him and he was a good man. He will be missed but never forgotten.
