I was a friend of Steve’s from SUNY Albany. I put my comment above. If you can let me know what happened I would appreciate it.

I just read this. I came upon this after several emails to Steve went unanswered. Steve was my friend. He and I were college roommates for two years at Albany. I saw him a while back when he came to New York concerning his mother’s estate I believe and we had some drinks in a bar – we didn’t miss a beat. It was like old times. How did he pass? I saw that someone mentioned cancer? He and I would exchange emails every year about this time regarding our long lost friend Dave Rivera whose birthday was around this time. If someone could fill me in as to what happened I would appreciate it. If it is too painful I understand. As I am typing this I am still in shock. There is so much I remember about him, everything from his slapshot to his spittoon. So smart. That sidelong look he would give you. I will miss you my friend.
