Stephen Dale Warriner, 80, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2026 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was born on November 15, 1945 in Artesia, California to parents Alva Edwin Warriner and Jennie Vanderwall Warriner.

Steve grew up in Artesia enjoying many of the small town advantages. At 16, Steve gained his interest and knowledge of plants and the nursery business at Andy’s Nursery.

He then continued his love of plants as manager of the 73-acre Rancho Capistrano, propagating Juniperus Tamariscifolia plants and landscaping the ranch.

Steve was predeceased by his son Brandon. He is survived by wife, Geralyn, nee Boer; son Bryan (Shawna); daughter Bonnie Davis (Abe John); grandsons Nathan Warriner, Hayden Warriner and granddaughters Ella Davis and Roxanne Davis.

Steve will be remembered for his quick wit, quiet spirit, strength and ever present love.

A life wonderfully lived leaves a special light that will shine in the hearts of those who loved him.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00am at O’Connor Mortuary, Laguna Hills.

Burial to be held at 3:00pm August 8, 2026 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier.
