Stephen Matthew Grubb, Jr.
June 30, 2000 – June 24, 2025

Stephen Matthew Grubb, Jr., 24, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025. Known as Matt to his friends and Matthew to his family, he was a kind, compassionate, and genuinely funny person who brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.

Matthew grew up in Rancho Santa Margarita and attended Serra Catholic Elementary School and Santa Margarita Catholic High School, graduating in May 2018. After high school, he worked in food services and hospitality, eventually becoming a manager during his seven years of dedicated work.

In his free time, Matthew enjoyed hiking, raising his many tropical fish, playing video games with his friends, and cheering on his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He had a big heart, an easygoing nature, and a laugh that could brighten anyone’s day.

He is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his father and stepmother, Stephen Matthew Grubb, Sr. and Andrea Patton Grubb; his mother, Fay Rivera; his older sister, Phoebe Stott; and his younger sister, Chloe Grubb. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him, simply by being himself.
