Obituary

Spencer Sandridge

Spencer Sandridge, age 27, the beloved son of Kaye and Jim Sandridge, passed away instantaneously in a fatal car accident on April 30th. He was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. He had lived in Orange County, CA the past four years, where he worked as a teller and later promoted to a personal banker at Wells Fargo. He was also finishing his college degree at Orange Coast College. He was committed to his rescue dog, Lazarus, and loved to spend time with him at the beach.

Spencer was an avid outdoorsman and excellent marksman who enjoyed hiking, camping and snow skiing. He achieved his first degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of seven, and shortly thereafter earned his second degree black belt. He went on to become an Eagle Scout and was a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow. During high school he was active in the youth group at Triestch Memorial United Methodist Church. And enjoyed going on mission trips with them. While participating in the Marcus High School Band, they won multiple state championships, and was a member of the Drumline that won a national championship. His friends and coworkers remember him as a caring, generous, engaging, fun-loving, and intelligent young man.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kaye Sandridge, his younger sister, Shannon Sandridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  In this time of social distancing and limited gathering, the family would appreciate your comments to celebrate and remember the accomplished, cherished life of Spencer.

Dear Jim and Kaye, I am heartbroken for your loss and send my prayers that our Lord comfort you during this painful journey. You are not alone; your family and friends walk with you.

  2. Spencer was my coworker and friend. I worked with him at our branch in Costa Mesa when he was promoted to be a personal banker. Then he moved on to another branch eventually.
I will miss walking into the break room and Spencer asking me about my financial goals. I will miss him bombarding me with information about stocks and investments, things I don’t really understand, but Spencer did.
I will miss asking him what he was doing for the weekend and him telling me about his plans with Laz. He was so dedicated from day 1 with Laz.
If I ever had any out of balances, or differences on my cash drawer Spencer was one of the first people to roll up his sleeves and say “Dakotah what are we looking for?” And he would get on his hands and knees to help me find my mistakes.
Spencer was a golden person, a person with a beautiful soul and a big heart. This world has one less golden soul, but God and his family now have a new angel.
I pray Spencer’s family finds peace and comfort somewhere during all of this, I pray Laz can be happy and know Spencer loved him, I pray that we can all get through this and come out feeling so much more grateful for those golden people and conversations. I would give anything to have one last talk with Spencer. Peace be with everyone that was blessed to know him.
