Obituary

Spencer Sandridge

Spencer Sandridge, age 27, the beloved son of Kaye and Jim Sandridge, passed away instantaneously in a fatal car accident on April 30th. He was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. He had lived in Orange County, CA the past four years, where he worked as a teller and later promoted to a personal banker at Wells Fargo. He was also finishing his college degree at Orange Coast College. He was committed to his rescue dog, Lazarus, and loved to spend time with him at the beach.

Spencer was an avid outdoorsman and excellent marksman who enjoyed hiking, camping and snow skiing. He achieved his first degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of seven, and shortly thereafter earned his second degree black belt. He went on to become an Eagle Scout and was a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow. During high school he was active in the youth group at Triestch Memorial United Methodist Church. And enjoyed going on mission trips with them. While participating in the Marcus High School Band, they won multiple state championships, and was a member of the Drumline that won a national championship. His friends and coworkers remember him as a caring, generous, engaging, fun-loving, and intelligent young man.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kaye Sandridge, his younger sister, Shannon Sandridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  In this time of social distancing and limited gathering, the family would appreciate your comments to celebrate and remember the accomplished, cherished life of Spencer.

  1. Spencer was such a kind, loving charismatic young man. He found value in everyone and exemplified it through his humor and quiet words of encouragement.
His found great joy in being outside, especially with his dog Laz and time with his family.
Think of Spencer when next you experience a moment of joy, as it is Spencer’s spirit touching you.

  2. Dear Kay and Jim,

I was so saddened when Suzy told me of Spencer’s death. She shared with me what special young man he was. My, reading his obituary, it is amazing how much he accomplished in his short life and what joy he brought to his friends and his family. I wish I had had a chance to meet him. Be kind to yourselves as you travel the long and winding road of grief. I pray you take comfort in your faith.

  3. Terri Manis says:

  4. Our hearts are breaking from the lose of uch a beautiful young man. We have so many fond memories of Spencer and Hogan at our house swimming, playing games, eating and watching movies with our girls. Both your and our houses might have been TP’ed by one another as well!
Spencer was funny and loving and always was respectful to us! We would see him from time to time when he was working at the Texas Roadhouse and he always greeted us with a smile and a hug. We will always remember his joyous spirit and kind soul.
May God comfort you and bring you peace.

  5. Kaye, Jim and Shannon – we pray the Word comforts you all at such a difficult time. Romans 8:38-39. On the one hand I have not been physically around Spencer for more than 20 years, but on the other hand having listened to his mom and daddy share about his extraordinary life now and again as friends catch up on family – it is evident how much Spencer was loved and how deeply he loved others. Spittin’ image of you Sand Dawg. The Peace of the Lord be with you all.
