Obituary

Spencer Sandridge

Spencer Sandridge, age 27, the beloved son of Kaye and Jim Sandridge, passed away instantaneously in a fatal car accident on April 30th. He was born and raised in Flower Mound, Texas. He had lived in Orange County, CA the past four years, where he worked as a teller and later promoted to a personal banker at Wells Fargo. He was also finishing his college degree at Orange Coast College. He was committed to his rescue dog, Lazarus, and loved to spend time with him at the beach.

Spencer was an avid outdoorsman and excellent marksman who enjoyed hiking, camping and snow skiing. He achieved his first degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of seven, and shortly thereafter earned his second degree black belt. He went on to become an Eagle Scout and was a member of the BSA Order of the Arrow. During high school he was active in the youth group at Triestch Memorial United Methodist Church. And enjoyed going on mission trips with them. While participating in the Marcus High School Band, they won multiple state championships, and was a member of the Drumline that won a national championship. His friends and coworkers remember him as a caring, generous, engaging, fun-loving, and intelligent young man.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kaye Sandridge, his younger sister, Shannon Sandridge as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  In this time of social distancing and limited gathering, the family would appreciate your comments to celebrate and remember the accomplished, cherished life of Spencer.

No words can make sense of your tragic loss. Spencer had grown into a fine young man that came from your love and grace. May God give you comfort and peace during this time. Your old Sunday School class morns along side you.

      Jim, Kaye, and Shannon,

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Spencer was a kind and loving person. It was my honor getting to know him through youth group. You have my thoughts and prayers. He will be truly missed by so many.

      1. Jim, Kaye and Shannon – it’s taken me several days just to be able to respond to this tragic news. Words are just hard to find and have always been interrupted by emotion, which is getting in the way now. Nancy and I can’t begin to even fathom what you all must be going through. For nearly 25 years we have been following Spencer’s growth and development from cub scouts to moving out on his own – just like our own boys who are so close to his age. It’s as though he was part of our family, and the most interesting thing is – we have never actually met him. Oh but we will, as God has prepared a room for us all and I’m sure Spencer is loving heaven. We will all meet him someday – and it will be wonderful. With our love and prayers, Lowell and Nancy

  2. Gayle Whitt says:

Spencer was special from the day he was born. He held the heart of his Granny in his little hands even telling her at McDonald’s one day,”.Granny, most people your age are already dead!!”. She found that remark hilarious. Spencer was always a giving child and adult many times to a fault.

All of his life from the time he could talk, he would tell you My Daddy is my best friend.

Spencer was a very feeling sensitive person. . I was blessed to have him for a nephew. I will miss him so. And he was a good cook too. L love you Spencer — Aunt Gayle

  3. I know that there isn’t anything I could say to take away the pain. But please know I’m here for you and Kay, and Shannon whatever you need
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time. May your many cherished memories help you all through these difficult times. Rest In Peace Spencer.

  4. May The Good Lord give you peace as you lay your only son to rest. Thank you Father, for your son, Jesus, who gives us love and hope. Sending you love.

    1. Paul Gentry says:

My prayers go up to our LORD for Jim and your whole family. I did not know your son but know the pain of losing a dear member of the family. As you weep and grieve at this time continue to remember that the LORD provides peace and comfort. He will do that for you even in the midst of this tragedy. My heart aches with you as with a brother.
