Sheryl was born in Clinton, Iowa and lived in Wauwatosa and Milwaukee, Wisconsin until May of 1980. She attended UW-Madison and graduated from Tobé Coburn School for Fashion Careers in NYC, 1966. She was a lifetime member of the Laguna Niguel Historical Society and worked on the Laguna Niguel Cityhood Committee. She was such a special member that her name is mentioned in the Images of America Laguna Niguel book.
Sheryl and her husband Bill relocated to Laguna Niguel, CA with their 3 children Lara, Tori and Martin in 1980. While in California, she worked for George Carson and Associates, and OC Register until she retired in 2000. She became a grandmother to 9 beautiful grandkids and became the family's matriarch. "Nonie" gave her children and grandchildren the most special childhood holiday memories that they will remember forever.
In May 2018, Sheryl was unfortunately diagnosed with lung cancer. While bravely fighting her cancer, she became a home hospice patient in April 2021. Sheryl passed peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 22nd at 10AM.

Martin of Dallas, Mary Kay Wargin of Milwaukee, and Marcia McCarty of Savannah, her 9 grandchildren – Larissa Mary (28), Riley (26), and Alison Denton (21) – Jillian (27), Elyse (25), Devon (22) and CJ Johnson (19) – and Madison (16) and Caden Bailen (14).
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be directed to the Cancer Research Society Institute, UCI.
