Sheldon Cohen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

He was incredibly loving, caring, dedicated, generous and loyal. He was the life of the party, always telling jokes and making people laugh and smile. He was a proud resident of San Juan Capistrano, serving his community on the planning commission, open space committee and other various committees for many years. He was also a distinguished attorney and practiced law for over 30 years.

He loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, taking road trips, hiking at Zion National Park, barbecuing, and rooting for his ASU Sun Devils to name a few.

He made an impact on everyone that knew him. He will be forever loved and missed.

Sheldon is survived by his wife Lois, daughters Meredith and Allison, grandchildren Kai, Owen and Mischa and sister Barbara.

Please join us as we come together in honor of the life of Sheldon Cohen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, attorney, city servant and friend to many. Sheldon passed away suddenly on December 15th, 2015.

A Celebration will be held at Reata Park in San Juan Capistrano, at 1pm on January 30th, 2016. The park was built and funded due in part to Sheldon’s hard work and dedication to the city as a member of the city’s Open Space Committee. All are welcome, and are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Sheldon. There will be a gathering immediately following the Celebration, at Sarducci’s Restaurant at the Capistrano Depot, for anyone who wishes to attend.
