Seldon Burgess Warner, 93, of Lake Forest, CA, passed away of natural causes on April 8, 2023, in the comfort of his wife and family.

Seldon was born on August 25, 1929 to parents Henry and Mary Warner in Albany, Oregon. After Seldon graduated from Crook County High School, Oregon in 1947, he attended Washington State University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1953.

Seldon served in the Marine Corps for 24 years and retired in 1976 at the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. After serving in the Marine Corps he went back to school to study Wastewater Treatment. He started his second career with the Los Alisos Water District in 1977. He promoted to the position of Director of Operations and retired in 1994.

In 1957, Seldon met Kayoko while stationed in Japan. Seldon and Kayoko went on to have seven children, Henry, Greg, Doris, Janet, Joe, Tina, and Tim.

In high school Seldon played eight man football and was a member of the wardrobe committee for the Senior Class Play titled, The Campbells Are Coming.  Seldon kept himself in excellent physical condition and at the age of 70 years ran a half marathon with is daughter, Tina. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and took his children on many camping and backpacking adventures. He enjoyed watching his children compete in sports. His children could always hear dad cheering them on from the crowd. Seldon was a member of the Orange County Woodworkers’ Association and enjoyed making pens and working on projects in his backyard workshop he named, “SELDON’S SNAFU SHOP.”

Seldon was predeceased by his stepbrother Alton, sister Carolyn and daughter Doris. He is survived by his wife Kayoko and six children, Henry, Greg, Janet, Joe, Tina, and Tim.

Viewing will be held at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 7-9PM. Memorial service will be held at O’Connor Mortuary on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 10AM to noon. Private interment at El Toro Memorial Park on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 1:00PM.
