Obituary

Sean Patrick Boland, 31, of Mission Viejo, CA, passed away in his family home on July 7, 2017.

Sean was born on November 29, 1985, in Fort Collins, CO, to his parents, Joe and Pat Boland and older brother, Bradley. The family lived in several states over the years including New York and Arizona. They ultimately settled in Mission Viejo, CA, in 2002.

Sean worked in advertising as a sales associate for the last nine years. He enjoyed golf, deep sea fishing, playing pool and snowboarding. Sean looked forward to the annual Wheel Golf Tournament in Estes Park and snowboarding trips in Keystone, CO. He was an avid Broncos fan and loved going to games with friends and family. He and his brother had recently started a new tradition where they met every year for a Broncos game in a new city and had already traveled to Nashville and Pittsburgh together.

Sean will be remembered for his devotion to his friends and his family, his kindness, his humor, his positivity and his sense of adventure. Many people have lovingly described him as being ‘everyone’s friend’ and someone who would give another person the shirt off of his back if they needed it.

Sean is survived by his grandmother, Lillian Waltermire, of San Rafael, CA; his parents, Joe and Pat Boland, of Mission Viejo; his brother, Bradley Boland, of Denver, CO; his maternal uncle, Jim Waltermire, of Novato, CA; his paternal uncle, Larry Boland, of Long Beach, CA; and dozens of cousins.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 7 to 9 pm at O’Connor Mortuary, located at 25301 Alicia Parkway in Laguna Hills. The memorial service will be held the following morning, July 15, 2017, at 10 am at O’Connor Mortuary. A celebration of life reception will be held immediately afterwards at Dove Canyon Golf Club, located at 22682 Golf Club Drive in Dove Canyon, CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sean’s name to any charity.

.. I didn’t know Sean but a wonderful, truly wonderful man came into my flower shop and something stuck. I was touched by his kind spirit and presence and was intrigued by his love and warm demeanor. As I sat at the shop I couldn’t help but to look up Sean, what a dapper youthful young man and so loved. It touches my heart to know I can make beautiful arrangements for such a handsome young fellow. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Kindly always, Kelly Pare from Burns Florist in San Rafael. As a side note, Jim you are such a bright spirit and it was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for making something so sad make my job feel worth working for. My thoughts are with you. Xox
