Obituary

At 6:45pm on Saturday, September 30, 2017, Sarah Chacon Kincaid, peacefully passed away at home with Ray, Katherine and Kelsey in the room.  Their beloved dog, Lexi, was also nearby, staying close to Sarah and watching over her.  Our dear Sarah is finally free of cancer.  She was the most faith filled person I knew.  She trusted in God without wavering and accepted her 44 years of health struggles with Patience and Grace.  Sarah loved Katherine and Kelsey so much that she refused to let cancer win, in spite of the overwhelming odds at times, because she wanted to be a part of their lives for as long as possible. Sarah loved being a MOM more than anything in Life.

Sarah loved Ray and admired him so much for his enduring passion to be the best caregiver ever.  Ray’s devotion to Sarah and his kind and gentle caring for her was evident to all who met them.  He is a great example of living your wedding vow: ‘In sickness and in health, until death do us part.’  I never once heard Ray complain as Sarah journeyed with one cancer struggle to another.

Sarah loved her extended family.  She loved her brother, Tom, and the overwhelming number of Chacon family members.  Sarah was always sharing stories about how wonderful Ray’s parents were. She loved Bill and Shirley so much and raved about their adventurous nature and unending energy.  She also loved their devotion to Katherine and Kelsey.  Shirley’s cooking skills and her holiday table decor were something Sarah always admired.

Sarah was a Fantastic friend to many.  Rarely did she meet a person she did not like.  Sarah always knew that cancer might cut her life short, so she treasured the important things:  Loving Relationships with Family, Friends and God and a JOY for LIFE!!  She never rushed a conversation or a visit.  She had a passion for tennis and that is where I met her: On the tennis courts over 18 years ago.  Sarah was known for always showing up late for matches, but her sweet smile and enduring personality quickly melted any frustrations you had about her perpetual lateness.

Please keep Ray, Katherine, Kelsey and Katherine’s wonderful boyfriend, Ryan, in your prayers as they begin the process of grieving and learning to live life without our precious Sarah.  She left us far too soon, but she leaves a legacy of LOVE that will never be forgotten.  Katherine and Kelsey now have a Guardian Angel to watch over them and we all have wonderful memories to carry us forward.
