Sara Mae Maruna (Van Hook), affectionally known as “Petey” passed away on June 20, 2018 at Lake Forest, California.

Sara was the youngest of 5 children, born on May 4, 1924, in Lincoln Nebraska.  Sara retired from the Long Beach Naval Hospital in 1985 after over 20 years of service.

Sara was married for 48 years to Robert F. Maruna, who predeceased her in 2009.  Sara loved her family very much, and she is survived by daughters, Beverly and Diane; sons, Kenny and Danny and stepson, Bruce, and all of their spouses.  Sara had 9 grandchildren, Randy, Scott, Shawn, Jason, Brian, Alexis, Kevin, Max, and Jake and 4 great-grandchildren, Gabe, Emily, Ariana, and Aspen.

Sara Mae’s final resting place is Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress, California.
