Sang Ming Liu
January 11, 1938 – February 22, 2026

It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of my beloved father on the morning of February 22, 2026. He left us peacefully after a short illness, closing a long chapter of a rich and fulfilling life.

My father was a quiet, driven man and the principal architect of our family's immigration to the United States. His vision was simple but profound: to give us the freedom and opportunity to pursue our dreams. Everything we have today is rooted in his courage and determination.

He lived fully. He loved to travel, and he and my mother kept an active itinerary well into their 80s. His last major adventure was a memorable trip to Iceland with his grandsons in 2023. Our final journey together was a Carnival Cruise—an experience that, sadly, did not end well for him, but one that still gave us precious time together.

I am grateful that he spent the last three years with us in our Arizona home. During that time, I heard stories about our family, his youth, his adulthood, and his courtship of my mother—memories I will carry with me always.

In his final days, he was able to bid farewell to all of us, including his youngest sister, her family, and one of his closest friends from middle school. He left this world content, knowing that both of his grandsons have graduated or will soon graduate from college—something that meant a great deal to him.

He is survived by his son, daughter‑in‑law, and two grandsons, as well as two brothers, three sisters, and their families. He will be deeply missed by all of us.

I take comfort in believing that he has reunited with my mother in heaven, continuing the journey they paused three years ago.

Rest in peace, Dad. You live on in me.
