Sandy G. Spano, age 86, became the newest angel on Thursday, August 18, 2017 surrounded by her family. Sandy was a long time resident of Laguna Woods, active member of the Bocci Club, Volunteer for the Florence Sylvester Senior Center, Saddleback Thrift Store and Shea Riding Center. Sandy was an excellent cook and baker, who enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. Sandy loved to entertain, gather with friends at the pool, lunch with the girls and shop. Though, it was her role as a Mother and Grandmother from which she drew her greatest pleasure and strength and has left her legacy. Sandy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert Spano and their 5 children Rosemary Dolan (James), Grandsons, Jim (Leah), Brendan (Jennie), Anthony, Frances Pratt (Donald), Granddaughters, Erica Doyle (Andrew), Allison, Peter Spano (Beth), Grandsons, Zachary, Dominic, Jody Duncan (Jim), Vito Spano (Kelli Malone), Brother Salvatore Seidita (Joanne), Nieces, and Nephews. A prayer vigil and rosary will be held on Thursday, August 24th., at O’ Connor Mortuary, located at 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills. The prayer vigil begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by visitation. The family has requested a private burial. The Spano Family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Sunrise Senior Center, Mission Viejo, St.Joseph’s Hospice and the many multitude of Mission Heritage Doctors and Staff for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
