  2. Dear l Fran, Roe, Jody, Peter, Vito, and all of your families.

My heart goes out to all of you, especially my Uncle Al. I have many special memories of Aunt Sandy. The first time I met her, I was just 4 years old on an Italian Ocean liner on my way to America with my mother. She was about 15 years old. She was with her father and younger brother .The trip was very turbulent and she held on to me to keep me from sliding across the ship. She had a great sense of humor and made everyone feel relaxed even though we wondered if the ship would make it. At that time I did not know that she would eventually become my Aunt even though we moved to different parts of the US. My Uncle met her, they fell in love and the rest is history. She will be greatly missed.

    Love,
    Connie

  3. Loved visiting Mother Spano at the luggage store and later Diedrich drugs….she was so much fun for teenage girls to hang out with. On our way to UWM Fran and I would drop her off at Nana’s house for a day of baking. We would pick her up on our way home and she always had an empty coffee can filled with the best homemade Italian cookies just for me. A beautiful woman with an adoring husband who left a wonderful family legacy of lovely children and grandchildren. A life well lived, May she soar with the Angels:heart:

  4. My heart is saddened to hear of my Auntie Sandy’ s passing. My fondest memories are of Sunday dinners especially when I got out of the car with the big CorningWare of sugu slipped on the ice it flew up in the air and down on the ground Nanu wasn’t too happy with me but my Aunt Sandy made sure I was okay. She is in a better place and another one of our guardian angels rest in peace aunt Sandy and watch over your family we love you.

  5. To the Spano Family:
I first met Mrs. Spano when she came to visit Vito when he first moved to California. He had a dinner to introduce her to his friends. She cooked, of course, her famous Beef Braciole. It was HEAVEN on a plate! Over the years I tried to recreate her masterpiece and just gave up. No one could ever come close to the cooking genius of Mrs. Spano.

She was such a wonderful person and always so welcoming to everyone she met. She was Beautiful Heart and Soul….

My Deepest Sympathies to your entire family.

    Nancy and David Drobnis
