Mason is officially 6 months old. While he's unaware of the massive losses that have hit our little family in such a short amount of time, I want him to always know about the precious people who were once in his life.

His beautiful baby cousin Salem Charlee was his first friend. She was so much smaller than him, even though they were closest in age out of all the cousins. Mason smiled so big whenever Salem's mom, Savanna, brought her close to him. I could tell that they had a bond, even at their young little baby ages. And my brother, Zach, was always comforting & goofing around with Mason while hilariously mimicking Salem's movements when she would just wake up from a nap. Small moments like these are locked into my heart.

The loss of Salem has been the largest tragedy to ever hit our family. Zach & Savanna are amazing parents who love their baby girl with their entire heart and soul. Their pain could only be understood by parents who have lost a child. They made the perfect baby to add to their growing family. And for her to be taken so quickly after arriving is a loss & a pain they do not deserve.

I'm so happy to have captured as many moments of Salem and Mason as I was able to, but I just simply wish she was still here. She stole so many hearts even before she was born. I'll never forget her and I promise Mason will always know who she is…his baby cousin, his first friend.
